Customers advised of upcoming fare increases; part of long-term strategy to enhance transit options

Public transit helps connect people to employment and educational opportunities; supports travel to shopping, dining and tourism destinations; and ensures all residents have access to essential mobility services across the Region.

To continue to enhance the value of public transit for customers, Durham Region Transit is advising of a 10-cent base fare increase when paying with PRESTO, effective July 1.

When: Effective July 1, single-ride PRESTO fares will increase to the following:

• Adult:  $3.35

DRT celebrates 2022 Safe Driver Awards

Durham Region Transit partnering with Canadian Blood Services for National Blood Donor Day

Whitby, Ontario – June 14 is National Blood Donor Day and Durham Region Transit (DRT) is teaming up with Canadian Blood Services to help make a meaningful impact.  

DRT representatives will be donating blood on June 14 as part of National Public Service Week (June 12 – 17).

Anyone can participate with DRT by visiting blood.ca/account and signing in/creating an account, joining the DRT Team and booking an appointment to donate blood on June 14.

DRT 2-for-1 Summer Youth Pass

Durham Region Transit (DRT) is again offering the 2-for-1 Summer Youth Pass via PRESTO. Customers who are 13 to 19 years of age can purchase the 2-for-1 Summer Youth Pass for $93.50—that’s two monthly passes for the cost of one monthly pass.

Once purchased, the August pass will automatically renew on the customer’s PRESTO card prior to the beginning of August.
