One of Durham Region Transit’s (DRT) main objectives is to ensure equitable public transit for all residents in Durham regardless of where they live, work, go to school, or otherwise travel in the Region. We are also committed to modernizing services to improve access and enhance the frequency and capacity of all services that meet the travel needs of residents. Whitby, Ontario – At the recent Association of Municipalities of Ontario (AMO) conference, the Region of Durham was awarded with the 2022 Peter J. Marshall Municipal Innovation Award for Durham Region Transit’s (DRT) On Demand service. The award is given to municipal governments who demonstrate excellence in the use of innovative approaches to improve capital and/or operating efficiency. PRESTO contactless payment to launch on DRT at a later date

Durham Region Transit (DRT) does not currently accept PRESTO contactless payment through credit card.
While customers travelling on Brampton Transit, MiWay, Oakville Transit and GO Transit are now able to pay their fare using credit card (PRESTO contactless payment), this method of payment has not yet been launched for customers travelling on DRT. PRESTO contactless payment for DRT will be announced at a later date.
