DRT's social media community exists as a forum for open and honest, two-way communication with members. Comments posted and/or directed to DRT's accounts are monitored Monday to Friday, from 09:00 to 17:00.

Social media terms of use

Under DRT's social media terms of use, DRT reserves the right to remove any comment, without notice, including posts that:

  • Engage in or encourage harassment, personal attacks, threats or abuse towards individuals or organizations;
  • Threaten or defame any individual or organization;
  • Contain discriminatory language, profane language or sexually explicit content;
  • Promote illegal activity;
  • Contain confidential information or violate the legal ownership interest of another party;
  • Promote commercial services or products; or,
  • Are not topically related to the theme of discussion.

Repeated breaches of these terms of use may result in the offending user being banned or blocked from further interactions with DRT's social media community.

DRT is subject to the Ontario Municipal Freedom of Information and Projection of Privacy Act (MFIPPA). Users should be aware that personal and other information contained in electronic correspondence directed to DRT are subject to MFIPPA and may be deemed releasable under this legislation.

Social media platforms are provided by third parties such as Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, etc. Account holders using these services, including DRT, are bound by the respective terms of service and privacy policies. DRT does not collect any personal information via social media platforms. Information posted on social media platforms can be read by anyone. As such, the anonymity or confidentiality of the sender and any information contained within the correspondence cannot be guaranteed.

Generally, content posted to DRT's social media accounts will be considered transitory records and will not be kept as permanent records. User comments and other content may become part of the public record.
