Whitby, Ontario – On April 3, members of the Durham Region Transit Executive Committee (TEC) met to discuss various Durham Region Transit (DRT) initiatives and updates. Details and highlights include:
- April service updates: On April 8, DRT implemented service adjustments to improve the reliability and on-time performance of bus services. There were no changes to service capacity or frequencies.
- Running time adjustments were made to improve service reliability on 12 routes.
- Final trip of the day for Route 507 will serve all stops in Orono.
- 216C trips begin and end at Audley Recreation Centre.

- Transit Operator and Worker Appreciation Day: During the week of March 18, DRT thanked and celebrated the dedication and hard work of all transit staff who keep Durham moving.
- Record ridership continues: February ridership, on scheduled service, exceeded one million passenger trips; and was 43 per cent higher than the same month in 2023. This is approximately 30 per cent higher than the pre-pandemic period.
- Public Information Centres (PICs): This April, PICs continue to be held across the Region. They offer an opportunity to meet with the service design team, and learn about the network, planning process and the future of public transit service in Durham.
