Whitby, Ontario – DRT On Demand is getting an upgrade. Beginning in September 2023, DRT will be moving to a new system for its On Demand services—providing customers with more tools, including a new DRT On Demand mobile application (app).

When: September 2023

What: Customers, including individuals registered with specialized services, will have access to new self-serve tools online through the app and a new web portal. The new DRT On Demand app will enable real-time trip tracking for all customers. The app will include new trip planning features for customers connecting between On Demand and scheduled services. Customers interested in self-serve tools, who do not have a smartphone, can access a new web portal to plan and book trips from a desktop or laptop computer. Customers can still contact DRT booking agents and customer service representatives to plan and book trips over the phone.

Why: This is part of ongoing work to upgrade the software used to schedule trips and vehicles. The goal is to operate a more flexible and reliable On Demand system integrated with scheduled service, and to provide all customers with self-serve tools and real-time information.

Note: More details will be available throughout the summer, including how-to guides and information about the new DRT On Demand app.
