Region of Durham and DRT now accepting applications for Transit Advisory Committee

Whitby, Ontario – The Region of Durham and Durham Region Transit (DRT) are currently accepting applications for the Transit Advisory Committee (TAC).

The TAC must be comprised of 17 members in total (16 voting and one non-voting) with representation from each area municipality. Details about membership composition and eligibility criteria are outlined in the Terms of Reference.

When: Completed applications must be submitted to the Regional Clerk by 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 27, 2022.

Modernizing DRT Specialized Transit

One of Durham Region Transit’s (DRT) main objectives is to ensure equitable public transit for all residents in Durham regardless of where they live, work, go to school, or otherwise travel in the Region. Whitby, Ontario – At the recent Association of Municipalities of Ontario (AMO) conference, the Region of Durham was awarded with the 2022 Peter J. Marshall Municipal Innovation Award for Durham Region Transit’s (DRT) On Demand service. The award is given to municipal governments who demonstrate excellence in the use of innovative approaches to improve capital and/or operating efficiency.
