    • E-Mission Zero – Approval to negotiate an agreement with PowerON for Durham Region Transit's electrification infrastructure: DRT proposed a strategy to deliver and manage the infrastructure and energy assets required to support the transit fleet electrification plan.

    • Fire at the Raleigh bus depot: TEC members acknowledged DRT's resiliency and ability to quickly adapt and return to regular service after a fire at the Raleigh bus depot on August 16, 2023.
  • Toronto Transit Commission supports DRT’s September service update following fire

    Whitby, Ontario –Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) buses are temporarily joining the Durham Region Transit (DRT) fleet.

    The TTC has generously supported the DRT’s efforts to implement its Aug 28, 2023

  • DRT to resume regular scheduled service on Saturday, August 26

    Whitby, Ontario – Durham Region Transit (DRT) will resume regular scheduled service on Saturday, August 26 following a Aug 24, 2023

  • DRT service update following fire at 710 Raleigh Avenue

    Whitby, Ontario – Following a fire at Durham Region Transit’s (DRT) facility in Oshawa on Wednesday, August 16, service updates have been implemented.

    As a result of the fire early Wednesday morning, DRT is currently unable to deliver service from the Raleigh garage in Oshawa.

  • On Demand updates: What you need to know

    Whitby, Ontario – The new Durham Region Transit (DRT) On Demand application (app) will be available to download and use in the coming weeks, as part of DRT’s new trip scheduling platform.

    The new app will be available in the Apple App Store and on Google Play on August 21.

  • September 5, 2023 service updates

    Whitby, Ontario – On Tuesday, September 5, 2023, Durham Region Transit (DRT) will implement service changes to reflect the return to school and work following summer vacation, introduce scheduled service to some areas previously served by On Demand, and improve connections to GO Transit.

    When: Changes to DRT service will take place on Tuesday, September 5, 2023.

  • New DRT On Demand mobile application to feature new trip planning tools and more flexible plans

    Whitby, Ontario – DRT On Demand is getting an upgrade. Beginning in September 2023, DRT will be moving to a new system for its On Demand services—providing customers with more tools, including a new DRT On Demand mobile application (app).

  • Customers advised of upcoming fare increases; part of long-term strategy to enhance transit options

    Public transit helps connect people to employment and educational opportunities; supports travel to shopping, dining and tourism destinations; and ensures all residents have access to essential mobility services across the Region.

    To continue to enhance the value of public transit for customers, Durham Region Transit is advising of a 10-cent base fare increase when paying with PRESTO, effective July 1.
