Service Updates

Starting June 29, 2026, schedule and routing adjustments will be made to reflect seasonal travel to area attractions, extension of evening service and extension of service to new growth areas.

Driving Durham 2025 Service Strategy

Many of the changes being made in June, are part of the first year of service improvements for the Driving Durham 2030 Service Strategy.
Through Driving Durham, DRT will work to:
- Filling gaps in existing service.
- Keeping up with growth.
- Building a more frequent and available network.
- Building on Demand and connecting Durham's northern communities.

Seasonal service reductions

Route 920

Monday to Friday
- Due to reduced demand in the summer, weekday AM / PM peak service will operate every 30 minutes, instead of every 20 minutes on 920B trips, between Pickering Parkway Terminal and North Campus Terminal.

Route 100 - Service to the Pickering Waterfront

Route 100 service between Pickering Parkway Terminal and Liverpool and Annland Street (Millennium Square) returns for the summer season.

Park and ride from the GO parking deck located next to Pickering Parkway Terminal.
Connect with other DRT services at Pickering Parkway Terminal.

Thursdays
- Catch Route 100 to the Thursday evening concerts at Millennium Square.
- Service will operate every 20 minutes between about 19:00 and 21:30.
Saturdays and Sundays
- Service will operate every 20 minutes between about 12:00 and 21:00.

Route 224 - Service to the Ajax waterfront

Route 224 service via the Ajax waterfront returns for the season.
Trips via the Ajax waterfront will be marked 224C.
Weekdays
- Service will operate every 30 minutes via the Ajax waterfront, between about 18:00 and 22:00.
Saturdays and Sundays
- Service will operate every 30 minutes via the Ajax waterfront, between about 10:00 and 22:00.

Route 917 - Service to the Toronto Zoo, Rouge National Urban Park, and Lynde Shores

Saturdays and Sundays
- Service will operate every 30 minutes to and from the Toronto Zoo and Rouge National Urban Park, between about 07:30 and 20:00.
- Trips to the Toronto Zoo and Rouge National Urban Park will be marked 917Z.
Service operates year round to Lynde Shores Conservation Area in Whitby.

Route 901 - Service to the Oshawa waterfront

Just a reminder that Route 901 provides year round service to Lakeview Park in Oshawa.

On Demand Route 505 - Service to the Clarington waterfront

Just a reminder that On Demand and Route 505 provide year round service to waterfront areas in Clarington.

Filling gaps in existing service

As part of the Driving Durham 2030 Service Strategy, DRT aims to fill gaps in existing service.

In 2026, DRT is planning to address a number of schedule and routing gaps in the system. Stay tuned for further improvements in the coming months.

Route 302

Monday to Friday
- During weekday AM / PM peak periods, more consistent 15 minute service will operate in both directions.

Monday to Sunday
- Schedules adjusted to reflect changes in journey times.

Keeping up with the growth

As part of the Driving Durham 2030 Service Strategy, DRT is extending service to new growth areas. Ensuring transit is there when and where you need it.

In 2026, DRT is planning to extend service to new growth areas in Seaton, north Oshawa, the Thornton Road employment area, and west Whitby. Stay tuned for more service extensions in the coming months.

Route 905

Monday to Friday
- Select trips will operate via Thornton Road and Conlin Road, to service new employment areas along Thornton Road, north of Taunton Road.
- Trips via Thornton Road will be marked 905F.
- 905F trips will operate every 30 minutes, between about 07:00 and 18:30.
- Frequent service, every 15 minutes, will continue to operate west of Dryden Road and Garrard Road.

  - Service will be extended to 00:00 midnight, between Whitby Station and Windfields Farm Drive.

  - Schedules adjusted to improve reliability.

24 hour service
- Just a reminder that when Route 905 is not operating, On Demand may be a travel option.
- Enter your trip in the DRT On Demand App, or speak with a Booking Agent by dialing 311, to see if your trip is eligible for On Demand service.

Building a more frequent and available network

As part of the Driving Durham 2030 Service Strategy, DRT is planning more frequent, earlier and later service on main regional corridors.

In 2026, DRT is working to stay up later on main regional routes. The service enhancements in June are Phase 1 of additional late evening service enhancements planned for 2026, pending resource availability. Stay tuned for more late evening service in the coming months.

Monday to Sunday
- Service will be extended to 00:00 midnight, between Whitby Station and Windfields Farm Drive.
