Whitby, Ontario – Durham Region Transit (DRT) has reached a tentative agreement with Unifor Local 222, which represents operators, maintenance staff, customer service representatives and others. This tentative agreement is subject to a ratification vote by the Unifor Local 222 members.

This means that—at this time—there will be no interruption to regular DRT services and all services will continue to operate as scheduled. DRT will not be implementing the contingency service change for the evening of Friday, June 6, 2025, and regularly scheduled service will be available.

Where: All DRT services will continue within all eight municipalities in Durham Region.

When: Unifor Local 222 members are scheduled to vote on this tentative agreement. If approved, the agreement will go to Durham Regional Transit Commission for final approval.
