New service alert – Route 618 connecting north Durham like never before

Whitby, Ontario – Starting Monday, May 5, Durham Region Transit (DRT) is pleased to introduce Route 618. This new route will be piloted to provide weekday daytime service between Port Perry, Sunderland, Cannington, and Beaverton.

Route 618 is one of many DRT service enhancements, reflecting the 2025 Durham Region Budget's commitment to adding 69,625 transit service hours and providing more streamlined and efficient service to boost capacity and improve reliability.

  • Enhanced Connectivity: Seamless travel between and within key communities in North Durham.

  • Convenience: No need to book in advance – just hop on and go.
