Durham Region Transit (DRT) is rolling out its September service updates to help customers get where they need to go, whether that be to school, work, play, or other destinations. These updates are designed to keep pace with growth across Durham, meet increased travel demand after summer, and ensure reliable service as students and commuters return to fall routines.
When: Effective September 2, 2025.
Where: Durham Region and across DRT’s network.
Why: To provide service that meets the needs of travellers for fall 2025.
New and expanded routes:
- Route 112 (Seaton, Pickering): extended to serve Alexander Knox Road and Peter Matthews Drive, with new stops bringing service closer to growing neighbourhoods.
- Route 315 (Whitby): new peak-period service between Whitby Station and Port Whitby.
- Route 403B (Oshawa): reinstated and modified to provide weekday peak service to employment areas along Stevenson Road.
- Route 505 (Bowmanville): new peak-period service linking downtown Bowmanville to Port Darlington.
- Improved connections and transfers between neighbourhoods, schools, and employment centres.
- Route 917 (Whitby): rerouted along Stellar Drive for improved access to employment areas while maintaining access to Durham College Whitby Campus.
- Seasonal services ending: Route 224C (Ajax waterfront), Route 917Z (Toronto Zoo and Rouge National Urban Park), and weekend service to the Pickering waterfront end for the season.
Stop adjustments:
Some stops along Taunton Road, Rossland Road, and King Street have been moved for more efficient and reliable service.
