Whitby, Ontario – This September Durham Region Transit (DRT) is increasing service to welcome customers who may be returning to school or work in the fall.

Customers will benefit from increased frequency on several other routes including four PULSE Rapid Routes and more than 10 routes which will operate every 15 minutes or better, and increased connection to GO Trains with the launch of five new routes.

Increased service to Scarborough will be available via route 920 and PULSE 900. DRT will also offer improved access to universities and colleges via PULSE 900, PULSE 901, routes N2, 302, 405, 905 and 920.

When: New and updated services begin on Tuesday, September 6, 2022.

Where: Routes are being updated across Durham Region as follows:

  • The 19:12 southbound trip from Brock Road and Zents Drive will now end at Brock Road and Dersan Street instead of Pickering Parkway Terminal.

  • New weekday morning and afternoon peak route between Ajax Station and Pickering Parkway Terminal, via Ravenscroft Road, Church Street and Pickering Parkway.
  • Route 211 will via Rossland Road.
  • Route 211C will operate via Williamson Drive.

  • New weekday peak 216C serving the Williamson Drive and Audley Road area.
  • Combined weekday peak service will operate every 15 minutes between Ajax Station and Taunton Road / Salem Road.
  • Schedules updated to improve reliability.

  • New weekday morning/afternoon peak route between Ajax Station and Audley Road / Ashbury Boulevard every 30 minutes.

224

  • 224C: seasonal service to the Ajax waterfront ends.
  • The 224A trip departing Ajax Station at 09:29 is cancelled due to bell time changes at Ajax High School.
  • Schedules updated to improve reliability.

302

  • Schedules updated to improve reliability.
  • Northbound 302A trips departing Whitby Station at 07:20 and 18:50 are cancelled.
  • Southbound 302 trips departing Carnwith Drive / Baldwin Street at 07:56, 08:26 and 19:21 are cancelled.

  • New weekday morning/afternoon peak route between Whitby Station and Taunton Road, via Anderson and Garden Streets every 30 minutes

  • New weekday trip departing Oshawa Station at 05:55.
  • New weekday peak 403B, between Oshawa Centre Terminal and Oxford Street / Phillip Murray Avenue every 30 minutes. Combined frequency will be every 15 minutes.

  • New weekday daytime route operating between Oshawa Centre and Garrard Road / Taunton Road via Garrard Road and Stevenson Road, every 30 minutes.

  • New weekday trips departing Harmony Terminal: 05:50, 22:50 and 23:20.

  • Routing in Courtice revised to improve access to transit.

  • New weekday peak and daytime periods route operating between Oshawa Centre and Harmony Terminal, via Olive Avenue, Townline Road, Adelaide Avenue and Harmony Road.
  • Service 30 minutes, with combined 15-minute frequency from routes 410 and 423 on Gibb Street / Olive Avenue, between Oshawa Centre Terminal and Harmony Road.

  • New early morning trips departing at 04:40, 05:10, 05:40 and 06:10 from King Street/Simpson Avenue.
  • The 06:55 trip from King Street/Simpson Avenue will now depart 15 minutes earlier at 06:40.
  • Routing revised in the Clarington Centre area to enhance access to secondary schools.
  • Schedules updated to improve reliability. 

PULSE 900

  • Service will operate every 20 minutes from Centennial Circle during weekday peak and midday periods.
  • Schedules updated to improve reliability.

  • Early morning westbound trips will begin at King Street / Boswell Drive.  These trips continue from new 502 trips starting at King Street / Simpson Avenue.
  • New trips to Oshawa Station:
    • 05:08 from King Street / Boswell Drive.
    • 06:30 from Trulls Road / King Street. 
    • Schedules updated to improve reliability.

905

  • Schedules updated to improve reliability.
  • New trips during weekday peak periods, operating every 15-minutes.

917

  • 917B: Monday to Friday, seasonal post-secondary trips between Oshawa Centre Terminal and Whitby Station will resume. 15-minute service during peak travel times.
  • 917Z: Seasonal service to the Toronto Zoo and Rouge National Urban Park ends. 

920

  • Will now operate every 15 minutes during weekday peak and midday.
  • New evening service between 18:00 and 22:00, every 30 minutes. 
  • Schedules updated to improve reliability.

392, 405, PULSE 901, PULSE 915, PULSE 916

  • Schedules updated to improve reliability.

N2

  • Routing extended in south Oshawa to the Oxford / Malaga industrial area.
  • Service will now operate every 30 minutes between 23:30 and 05:30.
