Fare-free transit for Canadian Armed Forces members

Whitby, Ontario – Durham Region Transit (DRT), in partnership with the Region of Durham, is proud to offer a limited-time fare incentive for Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) members, reservists and veterans.

To qualify for fare-free travel, eligible individuals must present one of the following:

• Veteran’s Service Card (NDI 75)
• Canadian Forces Identification Card (NDI 20)
• CFOne Card
• Temporary National Defence Identification Card (NDI 10) or
• Appear in uniform or wearing service medals

When: From October 31 through November 11, individuals can ride fare free on DRT.

Where: DRT scheduled service operates throughout Durham Region. On Demand is available in low ridership areas across the Region, and for customers registered with Specialized Transit.

Why: Whether attending commemorative events, connecting with loved ones, or simply going about your day, DRT hopes to make travel a little easier for CAF members across Durham Region.
