Durham Region Transit to resume On Demand service on Tuesday, October 21 after temporary outage

Whitby, Ontario – The technical issue affecting Durham Region Transit’s (DRT) On Demand booking app has been resolved. Starting October 21, all scheduled DRT On Demand trips will resume as previously scheduled. Scheduled bus service continues to operate as normal.

When: October 21, 2025

Where: On Demand trip details will appear in the booking app.  

Why:  On October 20, DRT experienced technical difficulties with its On Demand booking app. The issue was related to broader challenges through the vendor’s cloud infrastructure provider, impacting the app’s functionality.
