DRT uses feedback from customers, operators, field observations, data analysis, as well as partner transit agencies to continuously enhance services. Check here regularly for annual service plans and specific service adjustments.

2018 Service Plan

On Wednesday, Feb. 14, Regional Council passed Durham Region Transit’s (DRT) budget for 2018, which continues to build on the improvements introduced in 2017. Budget highlights include:

ü  Nearly 11,000 hours of increased service.

ü  The purchase of new buses, including four new growth buses.

ü  Revamped website, as a part of improved customer communications.

Close to 11,000 hours of increased service will strengthen DRT’s High Frequency Network, including the addition of Route 120 Whites and the extension of Route 915 Taunton to Harmony Terminal (via UOIT/DC). Weekend and peak period capacity increases are also coming to the busiest routes, and commercial and employment areas will see additional service on weekends. Expansion into new-growth communities will begin in the summer.

For the first time in four years, DRT’s fleet will grow by four new conventional buses. This is in addition to 16 replacement buses and four replacement specialized services vans. These new vehicle purchases will keep the network running safely, efficiently and reliably for years to come.

DRT’s budget for 2018 also includes funding for resources to improve customer service and communications, which includes a revamped and easier-to-use website.​
