DRT & GO Transit Fare Agreements

One Fare Anywhere in Durham Region . . .  including GO Bus with a DRT ticket, pass or transferThe Durham Region Transit (DRT) agreement with GO Transit integrates GO Bus services as part of the DRT system making travel within Durham Region simple, more convenient and affordable.

  • Proof of a DRT fare in advance is required
  • Begin your trip with your DRT ticket, pass or transfer, otherwise regular GO Bus fares will apply
  • Cash fares are not accepted on the GO Buses at DRT fare rates
  • Regular GO Bus fares apply for travel outside of Durham Region and for customers paying cash boarding GO Bus

Pre-paid DRT fares - ticket, multi-ride, monthly passes or DRT transfers for adults, students (including U-Pass), seniors and children are accepted on the following GO Bus routes:

  • Lakeshore East  GO Bus Service, connecting train stations Oshawa to Newcastle (GO Lakeshore East, Table 9)
  • Hwy 407 East GO Bus Service, Durham College/UOIT to Brougham (GO Hwy 407, Table 52)
  • Stouffville-Uxbridge GO Bus Service, Uxbridge to Goodwood (GO Stouffville, Table 71)
  • Port Perry GO Bus Service, Beaverton to Whitby (GO Lakeshore East, Table 81)
  • Oshawa Hwy 2 GO Bus Service connecting train stations, Oshawa to Pickering (GO Lakeshore East, Table94)
  • Oshawa Hwy 2 Express GO Bus service Oshawa to Pickering (GO Lakeshore East, Table 95)
  • Oshawa Hwy 401 Express GO Bus Service, Oshawa to Ajax, GO Lakeshore East, Table 96

GO Bus and DRT Transfers

The DRT Bus Operator will issue a transfer for GO Bus.  A GO Bus transfer ticket stamped DRT provides a record of the trip as a GO Bus passenger. Customers are required to keep the GO ticket on their person as evidence of the paid fare.  The transfer ticket is also accepted as a transfer on all DRT buses providing it meets DRT’s transfer policy to ensure a continuous trip with no stop-overs.  Passengers with GO Bus tickets, paying regular GO Bus fares, are not valid for transfer to DRT buses.

DRT Transfer Conditions

Transfer is valid only at transfer points between routes ridden in succession as part of one continuous trip from origin to destination (without return) within times show after issue.
Not to be used for stop-over for the purpose of shopping etc.
Transfers are issued on request, at the time the fare is paid and are valid only when punched by the issuing operator.  Not transferable.
Upon request, operator will advise of established transfer points.

DRT Co-Fare Program

Customers can also take advantage of the DRT Co-Fare program to transfer to/from DRT Bus to GO Train or GO Bus at Lakeshore GO Train Stations only at a reduced fare ($0.65cents each way).

  • DRT passengers conecting to/from GO Bus and GO Train service at Rouge Hill, Pickering, Ajax, Whitby and Oshawa GO Train Stations are eligibile for Co-fare 
  • A valid GO fare (monthly pass or ticket) must be presented on the DRT Bus when boarding
  • DRT Co-Fare is available in cash, tickets and monthly passes
  • Co-Fare is not accepted on GO Train or GO Bus
  • At all times a valid monthly GO pass or ticket must be presented to qualify for Co-Fare
