High School Transit

DRT Student Monthly Pass for Secondary School Students
Full-time secondary school students between 13 and 19 years of age (inclusive) qualify for the DRT Student Monthly Pass at $86.50 per month. A student planning on using transit for more than 16 round trips in a month will find this option cheaper than using DRT tickets. The DRT Student Monthly Pass has no travel restriction, meaning that it is valid for use at all times of the day and all days of the week. Student passes and tickets are available on the PRESTO Card, offering unsurpassed convenience, including easy renewal from home, sharing allowed between students (travelling at different times) and protection against loss or theft.

School boards offer transportation services with minimum distance eligibility for students who qualify. Families should enquire at their school or school board for more information.
For information about transportation for both school boards contact Durham Student Transportation Services:

Do not walk directly in front or behind a bus, wait for the bus to pass for a clear view of the road and traffic
For the safety and comfort of all passengers, profanity, vandalism, pushing and other inappropriate aggressive behaviour is not allowed on DRT buses.  In all cases of misconduct, school administration is advised.  In some circumstances, police may be called.
  • Move to the rear of the bus to make room for boarding passengers
  • Stand back from the yellow caution line at the front of the bus to ensure the bus operator has a clear view
  • Do not distract the driver
  • Eating, drinking and smoking are not allowed on the bus
