Ticket Exchange Program - For New Fares Effective July 1, 2014
 
June 1, 2014 to June 30, 2014: exchange expired tickets for the monetary value of the equivalent number of single rides on a complimentary PRESTO card.  Example – 10 expired Adult tickets (a value of $27.80) would see a PRESTO e-purse load of $28.50.
 
July 1, 2014 to July 31, 2014: exchange expired tickets and the difference in value for new tickets or load a complimentary PRESTO card with the equivalent of the value of the expired tickets. Example – 10 expired Adult tickets (a value of $27.80) would be exchanged for 10 new tickets with an additional payment of $0.70 or see a PRESTO e-purse load of $27.80.
 
Grace Period for expired tickets from July 1, 2014 to July 31, 2014:
Expired tickets with a cash “top up” of $0.05 as additional fare will be accepted on DRT buses only (not accepted on GO Bus).
 
August 1, 2014 to November 1, 2014:
To exchange expired tickets, send a written request for exchange and include expired tickets to:
Durham Region Transit, 605 Rossland Road. East Box 623, Whitby, Ontario, L1N 6A3.
If approved, a rounded-down value of tickets may be offered to the customer. Example - 10 expired tickets would be exchanged for 9 new tickets.
 
Exchange expired tickets for a loaded PRESTO card or for new tickets at these locations:
 
  • DRT Headquarters, see cashiers on main floor at front counter at 605 Rossland Road, East, Whitby 
  •      Monday to Friday 8:30am – 4:30pm
     
  • DRT Westney, 110 Westney Road, South,  Ajax
    Monday to Friday 7:30am – 4:30pm

    Exchange expired tickets for new tickets at this location:
  • United Way Star Assist Information Kiosk, Oshawa Centre, Oshawa
    Monday to Friday 9:30am - 9:00pm, Saturday 9:30am - 6:00pm,
    Sunday 11:00am - 5:00pm
