Durham Region Transit Commission

The Regional Municipality of Durham enacted a by-law under the Municipal Affairs Act to transfer all lower-tier public transit operations. The by-law amalgamated transit services in Ajax, Pickering, Whitby, Oshawa, Clarington, and Specialized Services. The Durham Region Transit Commission was established as a municipal services board, effective January 1, 2006.

Members of the DRT Commission are elected members of Durham Regional Council.
